THE LEGO MOVIE TRAILER

The trailer attracts the audience`s attention as it plays very loud and bold music with many sound effects which makes them feel like they are experiencing it themselves. It also has dramatic text cards saying phrases like: “the world’s greatest heroes” and “the biggest movie ever assembled”. This will excite some of the audiences as it will make them feel involved and like they are one of the superheros and they will be curious of why it’s the biggest movie ever.

In the trailer for The Lego Movie, Emmet is represented as inexperienced and making a fool of himself giving a humerus aspect to the trailer and movie meaning more people would want to watch it, we see him not listening to what Vitruvius is saying and  resulting in him being left vulnerable when thing get dangerous, this is funny as it is not we would normally see a hero has doing. He is also distracted easily when he sees Wildstyle, giving another sense of humour as we know that wildstyle doesn`t see him in the same way.

The Observer 6 November 1966 - Information review

PREP Open the edition of the Observer and carefully read it to ensure that you understand the stories behind the headlines, images and advertisements. Use the internet to investigate.

  • There is the usual lingerie advertisement which would attract the female customers

  • One of the Subtitles is about an Italian flood which reflects the worldwide media at the time showing that people in Britain also had interests in other countries at the time because of trade and resourcing raw materials for a strong Empire. Above the Headline is a picture of the destruction the flood had left.

  • Another headline is talking about how lawyers recommend consent for divorce, this shows that divorce may becoming more popular at the time.

  • The Newspaper headline also talks about the RAF spotting a Soviet bomber being escorted away from Britain, this would be good news for people living in Britain as it would give them the image that they were winning and succeeding the war, also ti would make them feel happy as they know that they will be informed on new regarding the war and their safety.

  • Another example in the news paper where it is informing the public on issues in society is when it mentions about the clash between Wilson the Prime minister and George Brown

  • However, i can see no evidence of equality of ethnicity, sexuality, Gender, as there is no stories about black people, Gay people and not many stories about women's success. This reflects the society at the time as everything was very kept in line everyone believed what the media and higher people told them to think.

  • Another interesting feature of the newspaper is the weather update, where is gives u information on disruptions happening around the the countries, above the update is a headline about a storm which has made many disruptions

HIP-HOP MUSIC MAGAZINE

Select ONE hip-hop music magazine cover of your choice.
Paste into your blog for Prep.
Analyse the representation and media language of the cover.

This music magazine has been organised
in a bold, colourful way. At the top of the magazine is the name in big capital letters is the of the brand of the magazine. The centre has the central splash is of Ludacris which is the main part of the magazine. His name is in the centre in a clear and eye caching colour and font which reflects the style of his music. The magazine has been laid out in a clean way with easy fonts and cool text colours making it clear and easy to read.

Meanwhile, the background is just a simple white plain background, from doing this it ill attract more attention to the main feature of they magazine. Ludacris is also wearing casual clothes but a big chain which symbolises him to be wealthy but also successful. The use of lighting and shade in the magazine helps depicted him as a role model and a hero to some. There isn’t much surrounding him, apart from the other advertising parts and other people who feature in the magazine.

The typography of this cover is very simple, but eye-catching and easy to read. The main title of the star Ludacris is similar in size to the name of the magazine, from this is suggests how  big his role is in the hip hop world.

Below the artists name there is a phrase goes beast mode. This may attract fans and other people as they would want to experience his new and apparently good songs, but also shows his work ethic as it gives the image that he has been trying very hard. As well as this he is looking straight down into the camera like a person who not to be messed with but his only focus is to succeed.

Lego Movie Game

Watch the Lego Movie Video Game walk through for example here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiJ76xKOAbs
The aim of the prep is to make connections in your mind between what you experience as a Lego movie video game player and the 'uses and gratifications' framework

The Lego Movie Video Game is a great source of entertainment. It is very child-friendly and gives the games offers the payer to escape into action, making them excited,  the game also consists of problem-solving which makes sure that the player is entertained, Another form of entertainment is humour and spectacle..

In addition to this, The Lego Movie Video Game is a good for surveillance as people are able to play the game as well as watching the movie. Also, the game allows them to play as the characters they were just watching in the movie. This is a good way for Warner Bros to make money as it will make the product live on for longer.

As well as that, The Lego Movie Video Game can allow the players to form a relationships with the characters as, they  may identify with the pleasure of going into different like you are able to do in the LEGO movie game . Also, it can affect real-life relationships as people can see friends and talk about the game and they could play it with each other in their spare time.

On top of that, The Lego Movie Video Game has good values as it  involves  the pleasure of good defeating evil, from doing this it will give the player the sense of personal success as they move through levels. Purchasing the game as an adult or parent may also provided childhood memories for parents  as they could be familiar with the brand as they might have played other of their products when they were younger. This could give them the opportunity to play with their children. This also pictures how the range ofaudiences for video games might interpret the same product differently, e.g. young and old getting different pleasures from the same product.
