    initially represented as inexperienced and unequal to the job, making him seem weak
    traditional 'feminine' qualities - caring, gentle dealing with drug addict Nathan.
    Graham Webb makes a cameo performance so we will forget about him.
    The programme does not include DC Carl Hawkins' family concerns (which would shape how we see him)
    DI Felix Cane - shows both traditional 'masculine' and 'feminine' qualities
    traditional 'masculine' qualities - brave when confronting the knife-wielding Benson
